Reflection on Math Fair

The experience I had attending that math fair was enjoyable. I was surprised by the students' academically capability of explaining mathematical terms. Although there are some students only had simple probability games, especially those stations had "fair" games. There are some brilliant ideas I saw from stations that had "unfair" games. I had some great conversations with some of those students. They were very confident when they were explaining their games to me.
I was quite impressed by one of the stations that let players choose even or odd number and spin the wheel. The way of explaining the game was quite different from the others' and they also had the wheel connected to the board. They were changing the angle between the wheel and the poster board to change the probability to make the game "unfair." It shows that those students had an impressive understanding of the use of spin wheels and the math knowledge behind the game. It reminds me that I should always be aware that students have significant potentials in learning math. As a math teacher, I need to make sure to promote students' interest and develop their potentials.
